About
Capt. Jamil Mohammed Abubakar is an aviator, a business leader, and president of the JMD Foundation. He is from Gusau, in Zamfara.
The journey
He wanted the cockpit from childhood. He studied information systems at Kingston University London, then trained as a commercial pilot. Fourteen years of line flying followed, including as Chief Pilot at Azman Air and at NG Eagle. That is the habit he took into infrastructure and logistics at Dangote Industries Limited.
Service
He has said that leadership should start in private life and grow into public service. The JMD Foundation, which he has presided over since 2012, is that work: community development, health, feeding, and mentorship. The public motto is Be Kind.
Away from the work
He follows football, plays the piano, and likes to be on the water.
